JOE PERRY defeated Thepchaiya Un Nooh 4-1 to win the third and final Asian Tour title of the season in Xuzhou, China on Saturday.
It is Perry’s second triumph in an Asian Tour event following his victory in the first tournament of last season and confirms him in the 32-man Players Championship in Thailand in March.
Perry edged 2-1 ahead in the final and Un Nooh, a former world amateur champion, failed to pot a ball in the last two frames.
Now 40, Perry has enjoyed a consistent few seasons. Last June, he came within a frame of winning his first major ranking title but was beaten 10-9 in the Wuxi Classic final by Neil Robertson.
The top eight in the Asian Tour order of merit qualify for Thailand. They will be joined by the top 24 on the European order of merit following the sixth and final event, the Gdynia Open in Poland, next month.
